Pierce County - NDSU Extension

Rugby Park District

Position: Park Maintenance Technician

Reports to: Rugby Park Board


Summary of Duties:


The Park Maintenance Technician (PMT) is a contracted position which provides support and maintenance for the Rugby Park Board. The PMT is responsible for performing grounds keeping, and performs routine and emergency cleanup


Job Description

- Assisting the maintenance and repair of park grounds and facilities

- Perform general labor and grounds work such as picking up trash and litter, mowing grass,

operating maintenance equipment, etc.

- Plant, fertilize, spray, water, prune, seed, propagate, and cultivate grasses, flowers, bushes,

trees, and other plants and shrubbery.

- Prepare surfaces for finish painting by using, scrapers, sandpaper, primers, sealers, etc.

- Maintains a safe work environment and ensures proper equipment use.

- Hours vary depending on need and weather conditions

- Other duties as assigned, requested or required.


Minimum Qualifications:

- Applicant must be at least 18 years of age.

- General work experience in maintenance, horticulture or facility maintenance including

such as janitorial, painting, landscaping, grounds keeping, etc.

- Familiarity with sprinkler systems and other landscaping equipment.

- Ability to use general maintenance equipment such as ladders, hand tools, etc

- Ability to withstand exposure to varying weather conditions/temperatures for, an

effectively during daylight and evening hours.

- Ability to move 50 Ibs

- Ability to work with other team members or alone.

- Ability to operate and use power tools and equipment safely

- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with the ability to operate motor vehicles to include lawnmowers and grounds maintenance equipment.

- Must be able to provide Contractors Insurance.
